As a first time dog owner, I spent weeks reading books and researching positively reinforced dog training. I had a pretty good idea of how to train our puppy but it just wasn’t sticking. A friend of mine recommended Tyler from Honorable K9 and it was a perfect match. Tyler loves dogs, loves them- so everything he teaches and trains lines up with his love for dogs and his passion for happy dogs and happy owners. He respected how I wanted to train my puppy yet offered alternative solutions to consider that still provided positive reinforcement. And truth be told, his alternatives were spot on. I loved that I could connect with him in between sessions and get real time advice. I highly recommend Tyler and Honorable K9- it’s the best thing you can do for you and your pup!
I highly recommend Honorable K9.
Tyler didn't train my dog, he trained ME on how to communicate effectively with her; how to be a confident leader; and how to work together to succeed.
During the 10-week program, my GSD/Ridgeback pup, Mila, mastered basic obedience, leash manners, crate training, 'place' time, and overcoming fears of unfamiliar places/people.
Tyler demonstrated the importance of timing and tone while delivering commands and always used positive reinforcement and play to keep her engaged. Mila used to be very nervous about passing bikes and strollers, but we now know how to work through it by exposure and encouragement. It has been rewarding to see her progress in 'heel', and our walks are much more enjoyable when we're strolling side-by-side rather than dragging me behind!
My dog and I have gained a lot of trust in each other through this process which has strengthened our bond tremendously.
Thank you, Tyler, for the professional, reliable, and passionate service you provide. I look forward to our continued training!
I have a 6 year old golden I rescued as a 3 1/2 year old. He was not socialized as a pup and only knew a few commands. I tried to work with him on my own but after a few encounters with loose dogs running at him, he became leash aggressive towards other dogs passing him even at a distance. I was frustrated and didn't know what to do. He's such a loving boy towards people. I found Honorable K9 and reached out to Tyler for help to correct the behavior. Within only a few sessions, Cooper learned not all dogs will charge him. He learned other skills too. The techniques, patience, and coaching I received through Tyler's training program did wonders for Cooper's confidence and mine as well. I highly recommend Tyler and Honorable K9. I am very happy with the results and so is Cooper! He's much more confident and we can go anywhere without issue.
Thank you so much!
